Flights To Geneva

British Airways fly from Manchester, Gatwick and Heathrow

Easyjet (not always cheaper, especially during ski season) fly from Liverpool, Gatwick or Luton

Driving

7 Hours from Calais

Hire Cars

You will need a hire car from Geneva if you fly but there are plenty of rental companies; Avis, Hertz or Sixt (usually cheapest).

It is 1 hour's drive from Geneva airport to the apartment.

The drive is very easy as it is motorway nearly door to door. You can use public transport in season but I would really recommend getting a car as whilst the apartment is only 300m from the nearest bus stop, it is up a steep road.

Road Tolls

There are two road tolls between Geneva and Chamonix the first is Euro 1.60 and the second Euro 3.50.

Supermarkets

Super U (2 mins drive) in Les Houches.

Hypermarket 25 minutes drive, but you go past it on the way up from Geneva (exit 19 Sallanches).

Restaurants

For restaurants you are spoilt for choice and it is not all mountain cheese and potatoes! Le Delice is in Les Houches (tell Katie we sent you), is local and high quality and has a good atmosphere,

The Micro Brasserie http://www.mbchx.com/ in Chamonix for beer and great burgers.

La Maison Carrier for high class Savoyard food, Albert Premier Cru if you want Michelin *, and if you want Michelin ** head for Megeve!

If you want a mega feed of local mountain food head for La Maison Filippo http://www.lamaison.com/index_en.html just the other side of the Mt Blanc tunnel in Italy - 17 courses for Euro 40!!

All the cards for these are in the drawer in the kitchen table. Oh, and if you want good wine and nibbles, try the Agile Lapin in Chamonix.

Ski Locker

There is a ground floor ski room for skis and boots.
